About The 12th Opinion

Welcome to The 12th Opinion Graphic

In a world full of e-experts and annoying content creators, The 12th Opinion aims to be nothing more than fodder for the hardcore football fans.

Recently, a self-appointed Minnesota Vikings content creator was thrown out of Vikings camp practices for recording the team despite heavy warnings against such. This person took to their Twitter, (I’ll never call it “X”), account to plead their innocence. Of course, half of the replies are sympathetic and the other half are clowning them. Either way, what ultimately got Dustin hemmed up was this idea that they can be an NFL insider.

Fans are not insiders. Fans do not gain anything from “watching tape.” I do not care now many followers you have on Twitter, you’ll always be a fan and not an insider.

What separates the Ian Rapport’s from the diehard NFL fans is access. Rapport has access to NFL decision-makers in his iPhone contacts. Fans…we have opinions based on what we see. I saw this to make the point that this site does not aim to pose as NFL or college football insiders or experts. The 12th Opinion is merely fan speak. Do we know some things? Sure. We know football at a high school varsity-level, for sure. We also know what looks good and what look terrible. For example, the Buffalo Bills City Connect uniforms, (or whatever Nike is calling them), look horrendous. Either way, The 12th Opinion is subjective football jargon from the perspective of hardcore fans.

As site creator, editor, and currently, the only writer, I can commit to content that is honest, extremely subjective, and relevant. I watch nearly 12 hours of college football on Saturdays and even though I say “this year is my last year,” I continue to pay for NFL Sunday Ticket. Suffice it to say that I take in a lot of football viewing and I have no shortage of opinions.

In my previous works, I’ve written about everything from how an expanded College Football Playoff is a con, (I will die on this hill), to recapping the story of Ed Orgeron attempting to recruit Adrian Peterson to USC by getting Peterson’s father transported to a southern California prison. I once explained LSU’s season wasn’t good enough to warrant Jayden Daniels’s Heisman Trophy candidacy and Daniels ended up winning the trophy anyways. I’m a loose cannon and I almost love being wrong because riles up a crowd.

My ask is that you all give this site a chance. The 12th Opinion’s commitment is to feed you the content that you’re already thinking. We want to fuel the fire you bring to work on Monday mornings. We also, (shamelessly), want you to feel compelled to tell us how stupid we are on Twitter or Instagram. Good or bad, we’re here for the football fan discourse and debates.

I don’t go to church and I could care less what happens after a person dies. Weekends for me are at the mercy of the Football Gods. That said, I welcome you to our parish. We’ll do our best to maintain your attention with our sermons.

In the words of everyone’s wise grandfather: “Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one and they all stink.”
